Georges Hobeika 2011 Fall/Winter Prom Dresses Collection

Inspired by the Greek goddess Antheia, one of the Charities or Graces, Georges Hobeika paid homage to the “the goddess of flowers and flowery wreaths worn at festivals and parties” by sending a collection that translates the essence of a flower’s perfection and its gracious strength.

A powder pink prom dress with coral-like detail along the neckline. Using micro-pleating and ruching, the designer paid homage to Antheia by expressing the goddess in every woman – mushroom pleats and romantic lace accent layers of fine organza, crepe and georgette that are presented in emotional hues of purple and pink melted into clouds of moon grey that paint an October sunset.

Generous drapes — some beautiful ideas for maternity wedding dresses.

Gowns with bead encrusted belts. Bodice of the pale peach prom gown on the right is really pretty!

Georges Hobeika presented all kinds of elegant awesomeness in his Fall 2011 Couture collection. We love the structural yet organic details from this collection and after a much oohing and aahing, we managed to narrow down couple of our fav looks amongst many.

Belted blouson prom dresses. These kinda have a laid-back feel but look closer and you’ll appreciate the texture and fabric treatment of the dresses.

Sheaths— illusion top with short sleeves, strapless draped and translucent lace.

Emulating this mythical bearer of blossoms that beautifully adorns the vase of Aphrodite, this collection translates the essence of nature’s flowering perfection and gracious strength with its unique silhouettes and passionate palette, with long flowing formal dresses, pleating in various designs and a very light palette of soft pinks, cream and blue.
